    Sacramento Valley Chapter is offering the following seminars on Thursday, March 7, 2024 before our 12th Annual Trade Show.

    These courses are Cal-Fire approved for CEU credits towards the 30 hr. Title 19 requirements for Fitter Licensing.

    Course Descriptions:

    Title: Fire Pump Installation

    Contact Hours: 4 Hours

    Standards (Edition) Referenced: NFPA 20 (2022)

    Description: This presentation details the requirements of the installation of fire pumps. The

    content will summarize the layout and provisions of NFPA 20, Standard for the

    Installation of Stationary Pumps for Fire Protection. The content will display pump

    types, drivers, and configuration. Specific topics include suction pipe, discharge

    pipe, pumps, bypass assemblies, controllers, power supplies, and pump room

    requirements.

    Learning Objectives:

    At the completion of this presentation, you should be able to:

    1. Identify the scope and definitions specific to NFPA 20

    2. Identify the different types of fire pumps

    3. Identify and apply the requirements for electric motor drivers

    4. Identify and apply the requirements for diesel engine drivers

    5. Identify and apply the requirements for piping, testing arrangements

    6. Determine the appropriate set pressure for jockey pumps

    7. Identify and apply the appropriate acceptance criteria

    Title: Applying NFPA 25, 2013(CA) edition

    Contact Hours: 2 Hours

    Standards (Edition) Referenced: NFPA 25-2013(CA)

    Description: This presentation will discuss how typical inspection, testing, and maintenance

    activities are to be conducted. This presentation will review the requirements in the

    2011 edition of NFPA 25 as modified by California and published as the 2013(CA)

    edition of NFPA 25. This presentation will focus on the application of ITM

    requirements for sprinkler systems (Chapter 5) as well as the requirements for

    common components (Chapter 13).

    Learning Objectives:

    At the completion of this presentation, you should be able to:

    1. Understand common language in the standard and how to interpret the text

    2. Identify all the required components of a sprinkler system needing

    inspection

    3. Identify and apply the information provided in ITM summary tables

    4. Identify and apply the information provided in the Repair/Replacement

    tables

    Instructor Bio:
    John August Denhardt, P.E., ET, CWBSP, FSFPE, is the vice president of engineering and
    technical services for the American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA). He is responsible for
    strengthening AFSA’s engineering and technical approaches to meeting member, industry, and
    operational priorities, with an emphasis on service, quality, and integrity. Denhardt is a registered
    professional engineer (P.E.) in the District of Columbia and the states of Delaware, Maryland,
    Pennsylvania, and Virginia. He is NICET Level III certified in water-based systems layout,
    NICET Level III certified in inspection and testing of water-based systems, and a certified water-based system
    professional through NFPA. Denhardt is a member of the NFPA 13 technical committee on sprinkler system discharge
    criteria, a fellow in the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), a member of the SFPE Board of Directors, a member
    of the Board of Trustees for NFPA’s Fire Protection Research Foundation and sits on the University of Maryland
    Department of Fire Protection Engineering’s Board of Visitors. A native of Maryland, Denhardt holds a Bachelor of
    Science degree from the University of Maryland College Park in fire protection engineering. Prior to this role, Denhardt
    was employed by Strickland Fire Protection in Forestville, Maryland, since 1994, overseeing large-scale projects and 
    assisting with design and installation technical issues.

    Thank you for your interest in exhibiting at our 12th annual SVC AFSA Trade Show 2024. THE SHOW IS NOW FULL

    The show will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

    Booth space is limited and will be reserved in order of registration completion (fees paid in full).

    Booth is 8x8 with rental of $950 which will include a draped 6 ft. table, two chairs, garbage can.
    If power is required please register for a Booth with Power.  Power will be an additional fee of $40.

    We have once again included 5 Food Sponsorships which will include booth, location choice and free standing advertising at food location (see registration for details).

    Please let me know if you do not wish to have a table or chairs in your booth.

    We supply all raffle prizes and appetizers during the show.
    There will also be two "no host" bars available.

    We will be handing out floor maps at registration for attendees convenience in locating exhibitors.
